Roanoke Island Baptist Church

The Love with Shoes on ministry was inspired by a message that a missionary, Dr. Darrell Champlin used to preach from John 21 where our Lord asked Peter, “lovest thou me”. Dr. Champlin’s life greatly influenced our Pastor’s walk with the Lord and in our Mission Conference in 2017 the theme was “Love with Shoes On”. God greatly moved in these meetings in all our hearts and this ministry designed to reach our community with the gospel of Jesus Christ was born.

This ministry currently happens on the 1^st and 3^rd Saturday’s of each month and those involved meet to serve in many ways. Serving in this ministry consists of ever evolving ways to reach our community with the gospel including prayer, visiting, door knocking, flyers, tracts, mailers, cooking, special events and however our Lord leads us to serve.

Children are vital part of our church family for they are the next Church!

⁷ That they might set their hope in God, And not forget the works of God, But keep his commandments:

We have an active children’s ministry at RIBC.  We have Sunday School classes for all ages and a Children’s Church for ages 3 -12.  The Bible is taught and lessons are prepared that are applicable for each age group.  Songs, memory verses, crafts and games make Children’s Church and Sunday School an exciting time for our children.

Nursery is available for children up to 3 years of age during all services.

Our Youth Group is growing and we currently have activities planned a couple times a month!  Check out our Facebook Page for outings, pics and updates.  Let us know if you need a ride.

Want to come to church but don’t have a ride? Don’t let that stop you from visiting with us on Sunday!

Our van ministry is an important part of our outreach program.  We use our Church van to pick up anyone that wants/needs a ride to the services.

We also offer a pick-up service on Wednesday and Sunday nights.  Anyone interested in coming to worship with us and needs a ride; please call us at 252-473-2892.  If no one is in the office, please leave a message on the machine and someone will get back in touch with you.
